SHORTLIST: Cover Art Contest

We’re excited to announce the shortlist of our first annual Cover Art Contest. With over 300 works of visual art to choose from, judges Amy Friend & Ilene Sova have selected this list by five artists.

We’re excited to announce the shortlist of Room‘s first Cover Art Contest. With over 300 submissions to choose from, judges Amy Friend & Ilene Sova have selected this list of five works of art by five artists:

  • “Feather Nest” by Carrie Phillips Kieser
  • “Blue Fantasy” from Chinoiserie by JJ Lee
  • “Blood Moon” from Searching Always by Tiffany Mallery
  • “The Watchers” by Catherine Mellinger
  • “Yoda” from Spring Hill Way by Janice Wong

Thank you to everyone who entered the contest and congratulations to the shortlist. Next week we will announce the first-prize winner, who will get $500 and be published on the cover of issue 39.2 of Room, along with the second-prize ($50 and publication inside 39.2) and honourable mention (publication on our website) winners.

Our 2016 Cover Art Contest will open September to November 30. And our CNF contest is currently open, until March 8, 2016.
