Lots to celebrate at Room!

April is shaping up to be a busy month at Room magazine with much to celebrate:

  • Two stories from Room issue 33.4 All of Us Sacred have been selected to appear in the twenty-third anthology of the Journey Prize Stories. Congratulations go out to Fran Kimmel for “Laundry Day” and Michele Serwatuk for “My Eyes are Dim”.
  • Clélie Rich, an extremely dedicated member of our collective, has been named MABC 2010 Volunteer of the Year. Congratulations, Clélie! It is thanks to the hard work of collective members like Clélie that Room continues to flourish.
  • Collective member Rachel Thompson’s debut poetry collection Galaxy launches April 19 at McNally Robinson Booksellers in Winnipeg and April 26 at Café Montmartre in Vancouver.
  • Finally, collective member Adrienne Fitzpatrick has won the 2011 John Harris Fiction Award for her story “The Earth Remembers Everything”. See the full story here. Congratulations, Adrienne!
