Guidelines

Here’s what we’re looking for in terms of content for each review:

  • Reviews should have at least one quotation to give a sense of style.
  • No plot spoilers for narrative should be included, but the review should give some idea of plot.
  • It may be helpful to say where the author is from. Is the book a first book? Does the author write in other genres?
  • Provide constructive critique, keeping in mind it is possible to dislike a book but also to see value in it.
  • Emotional reactions to a book are welcome, but our reviews must analyze those reactions with sound criticism.
  • Reviews should be approximately 400-450 words in length.
