Issue 46.2: Contest Issue Call for Submissions!

Room Magazine invites unpublished writing on any theme for our open issue 46.2, edited by Geffen Semach, alongside Assistant Editor Ruchika Gothoskar and Shadow Editors Annick MacAskill and Nara Monteiro. Send us your writing from between spaces; liminal writing that engages with movement, immigration, and thresholds. Send us hybrid forms, speculative works, translations, and everything in between for a chance to be published alongside this year’s contest winners!

Before submitting, please read our About section to see if your work fits within Room’s mandate, then refer to the Submission Guidelines on how to format your work. We are an international feminist magazine, and encourage writing and art submitted from all over the world.

Underrepresented writers—including but not exclusive to women (cis and trans), trans men, Two Spirit and non-binary writers who are Black, Indigenous, people of colour, queer, and/or disabled—are particularly encouraged to submit.

Deadline: October 15

“Maple keys are built by nature like helicopter blades, which allows them to propel as far as possible from the mother maple… In these pages, we see the brave, touching, true ways we, too, must embrace the fear and the excitement that comes with leaving where we are rooted.”
