Episode Twenty: Should We Stop Calling Masculinity Toxic? Vivek Shraya Talks Men, Transness, and Self-Love

Vivek Shraya's new bestseller, I'm Afraid of Men, was called "cultural rocket fuel" by Variety—and for good reason. On this episode, Vivek chats with Mica about what inspired the book and its attention-getting title, why toxic masculinity isn't a very productive term, and how the pursuit of self-love can be exhausting and even demoralizing. Mica and Vivek also chat fashion, make-up, and how navigating the commercial retail space as a trans woman can be . . . frustrating. Vivek also tells us about the most amazing, powder blue, shoulder-padded jacket in the world, and why double-denim (aka the "Canadian tuxedo") is way cooler than Justin and Britney made it look in 2001.
