Thank you so much to Room magazine for inviting me to put together a list of new books I'm excited about this spring and summer. These wonderful authors put so much into their work, so let's give them some love and celebration.

The time has come for us to share the longlisted short stories from our 2020 Fiction Contest!
Room has compiled a short list of Black women and non-binary authors, podcasters, musicians, and businesses who have had a huge impact on the magazine, our staff and collective members, and our readership. This list is by no means exhaustive, and there are many more women and genderqueer Black authors and artists without books and discographies doing amazing work.
Devour. Devour isn't simply ingesting. It's to consume ravishly. To completely and wholly take something in.
