The selection process is never easy, but here are the six shortlisted essays for the 2019 CNF Contest as chosen by our esteemed and hardworking judge, Terese Marie Mailhot!

In the mean time, check out our annual Short Forms Contest that just opened. For the short forms contest, writers can submit up to two pieces of writing—essays, short stories, or poems—as long as they're each 500 words or less.
